What I'm working on...

Project Life...and I'm lovin' every minute of it!

I'm amazed at how easily some weeks come together all because of the kit choice. I wasn't sure what I was getting into, but I enjoy setting time a side to work on this, and have enjoyed looking back over the weeks I have completed. It will be fun to see what this looks like at the end of the year in PRINT! :) That's the goal anyways...

Oh, I guess, also of note, I am studying for my Certification in Human Resources. It's not nearly as pretty or as fun as Project Life, but I have dedicated time to it, and am getting a little more nervous as the exam date approaches (about a month away!) Here's to a month full of cramming...just like college...well, a little different I suppose :)

My most favorite kits!!!

Happy Friday! It's been a busy week. I've been trying to get caught up with my scrappin', but my computer has different ideas, so I'm not nearly as productive as I'd like to be. So, I figured I'd do my blog post, instead!

So, I couldn't pick just one kit. The first one I will consider an oldie, but I still use it quite frequently. It's the Superlatives Bundle. It's full of neutrals, and brights mixed in. It's the perfect combination, and also it is just full of versatile elements. Win!

The next one is Already There by Violet. It's a very soft, and feminine. I've used it in a number of my project life layouts, and have just started using it for regular layouts as well, see below!

And, my other current favorite is That Photo Life by Marisa. Again, the neutrals with the brights, and the gold. *Love*

So, those are some of my favorite kits! What are some of yours?!

How I got started in scrapbooking!

Hello out there!

Is anybody there?

I know it's been ages since I've posted here, but I know there was a reason why I didn't just delete this blog. I like having the ability to come back here from time to time!

So, I am now an avid digital scrapbooker. Any chance I have a spare minute, I am either at Pixelscrapper, or doing my own scrapbooking, or both, at the same time.

I have been digital scrapbooking for about 4 years now, and as I have been doing it more and more, I love it oh so much! I didn't know anything about digital scrapbooking until I started blogging, and that started when "the boy" was about 8 months old. Now the boy is going to be 5, and he's got a brother and a sister!

Back when I was blogging, My Memories had contacted me to see if I was interested in being a blogger affiliate, so I jumped at the opportunity. I had heard of that software, but really wasn't sure what it was, so with that opportunity, came the opportunity to use their software. I was instantly hooked. I am not a Photoshop owner, so didn't have any means at that time to create scrapbooking pages. As the time progressed I slowly transitioned away from My Memories to GIMP. I had learned a lot about digital design, blog design, web design, html code, and so I picked up GIMP and started creating my own things. I had so much fun creating blog designs and my own digital papers and elements, those were my new hobbies. I didn't scrapbook as often, and again, over time, found the designing aspect of things to be a little tedious. I wasn't enjoying it nearly as much as scrapbooking my own pages, so transitioned back a bit to using My Memories and focusing on doing my own thing, for me, rather creating things for other people. Every once and awhile, I think I want to start doing that a little, but quickly realize creating scrapbook pages is much more rewarding.

So, now, I participate in all the challenges I can get my hands on as time will allow. I use both My Memories and GIMP to make the best pages as possible, and will continue to print these pages out so they don't get lost as just random digital files on my externals.

80/365 and my randoms.

Happy Weekend to you!
I received some pretty flowers yesterday and had fun playing with my textures, which I really haven't done in some time.

1. This morning my older son and I brought out the crafting box and put together some crafted cards. He helped me pick out the paper, and cut some of the different shapes with our paper cutters.

2. It was mostly a distraction as he and I stayed home from the "red store" (aka Target), he wasn't happy about it at first, but he realized staying at home with mom without little brother does have some perks to it.

3. I don't have a lot of crafting space, so I can never leave my things out. I have a couple of bins of paper crafting supplies, one bin of cross stitching supplies, and one bin of sewing supplies, hence forth, I have no long term projects I work on. I always find it a hassle picking it all up if I am not completely finished with a project.

4. I have been doing well at not staying on the computer all the time, though, one of my newer hobbies is taking a hit, digital scrapbooking. I enjoy it, but I find that I just can't sit in front of the computer, and right now would rather make tangible items, which I am completely okay with. Hopefully it will come around ?

5. I am still keeping up with, and hope to throughout the year, with my project 52...I have my completed board here on pinterest, and the current year here. I love looking at other peoples' inspiration here, and hopefully with that will get some of my mojo back.

79/365 good morning

pretty sunrise landscape on the golf course

It's nice to see the sunrise in the morning again. They say it's spring, however, the low for tomorrow night is suppose to be -4, so I'm not sure what is going on. There has been a fair amount of snow melting, but seeing as it is March, and it is Minnesota, snow is never out of the question. Hopefully the warmer temps will be here soon, and will STAY!

Happy Weekend!

77/365 the little mask

Hman is one to acquire many things. When he was a young lad, he would frequently bring home emptied milk jugs from daycare because he liked to hold the handle. There was a point where I had to draw the line with that. Most often, now, he brings his own toys and comes home with his own toys. Well, yesterday, when I went to get him, he was holding a Honey Nut Cheerios box. I was horribly confused, but as it turns out there was a cut-out mask and a comic book inside. So, as soon as we got home, we cut the mask out, and then he proceeded to play with it for about 5 minutes, then moved on about his day...

He was pretty excited to show his dad that comic book inside!

Random photos from our trip...

Well, I've been horribly unmotivated as of late taking pictures. I have been taking pictures, but some days I take one with my camera, but within the last week, I think I have used three of my phone photos for my project 365. Winter is just dragging on, the kids are both on antibiotics, and are finally sleeping. After all the ear infections we dealt with last year with TRex, Hman ruptured his eardrum on Tuesday. I couldn't even imagine the pain. For the most part, he has been handling it very well, though every time his ear popped he would scream in pain. Sigh...

Anyway, we traveled to TRexs two year birthday party. Every day since then he has asked to go to grandma and grandpa's...

Hopefully with the recovery and the less frigid weather my mojo and creativity will return!
